Grasshoppers 'Open Session' Team Win!

 

On Thursday, 27th May six of our ‘Open’ session players (plus 2 Hoppers!) took part in the Sandwell Back 2 Netball Tournament at Sandwell Academy.

 

Having donned the lovely(!) pink t-shirts we were given the team started talking tactics and, for some players, the nerves started to set in.

 

The first game was against Oldbury, which the team won 14-1. Next we took on Walsall, winning the game 7-6, despite being 1-4 at one point. Finally we played Wednesbury, soon finding our winning streak again resulting in a 16-5 victory. Gayna gave lots of encouragement from the sidelines and everyone pulled together as a team, supporting one another throughout the matches.

 

At the end of the evening Hoppers’ Open team were thrilled to be named as the winners of the tournament and, with great excitement, we received our medals. Well played girls – a great evening’s netball!
